Worms 2

Worms 2 drops you into the gloriously absurd world of weaponized invertebrates — a turn-based tactical shooter where teams of worms hurl explosives, fire bazookas, and call in airstrikes across destructible terrain. It's one of those classic browser game experiences that proves strategy and slapstick are a perfect combination.

How Turn-Based Worm Warfare Works

Each match pits your team of worms against an enemy squad on a procedurally varied landscape. On your turn, you select one worm, choose a weapon from your arsenal, aim carefully, and fire — then hope the terrain, wind direction, and your own geometry work out in your favor. The catch: nearly everything on the map can be destroyed. A well-placed grenade doesn't just damage enemies; it reshapes the battlefield, cutting off escape routes or eliminating the ground beneath a worm entirely.

The weapon selection is where Worms 2 gets genuinely creative. Alongside classics like the bazooka and grenades, you'll have access to dynamite, sheep bombs, and other outlandish ordnance. Each weapon behaves differently — some require precise angle calculation, others are proximity-triggered, and a few are chaotic enough that they're as dangerous to your own team as to the enemy.

Mastering the Physics

Wind is the invisible variable that separates good Worms players from great ones. It affects the trajectory of every projectile you fire, meaning the same shot that worked last turn might arc wildly in the wrong direction now. Learning to read the wind indicator and adjust your aim accordingly is the core skill the game teaches over time.

Terrain management matters too. A worm clinging to a narrow ledge is an easy target; a worm tucked in a fortified hollow is much harder to dislodge. Smart positioning between turns is as important as accurate shooting, and experienced players are always thinking two or three moves ahead.

Strategy Tips

Don't waste powerful weapons on worms that are already in dangerous positions — let gravity and terrain damage finish the job. Cluster grenades and bazooka shots near the edges of platforms to knock enemies into the water, since a worm that falls off the map is eliminated regardless of its remaining health. And always check the wind before firing; even a slight breeze can turn a certain kill into a humiliating own-goal.

Fans of tactical shooters will also enjoy Rabbit Sniper, Half Life 2, and Halo 2 for more shooting action.
