Pacman

Pacman needs almost no introduction — the yellow, pie-shaped character chomping through a maze while ghosts give chase is one of the most recognized images in the history of gaming. This HTML5 version brings the original arcade formula to your browser with sharp graphics, faithful gameplay, and smooth performance on any modern device, whether you're at a desktop or playing on your phone.

The Maze, the Dots, and the Ghosts

Every level is a maze packed with small dots — eat them all to advance. Four ghosts patrol the corridors: Blinky chases you directly, Pinky tries to get ahead of you, Inky takes an unpredictable angle, and Clyde alternates between pursuit and retreat. Learning how each ghost behaves transforms Pac-Man from a frantic sprint into a calculated dance.

In each corner of the maze sit four large flashing Power Pellets. Eat one and the dynamic flips — the ghosts turn blue and vulnerable, and Pac-Man can eat them for bonus points. The window of vulnerability shrinks with each successive pellet you consume, and ghosts return to their base before respawning, so timing your power pellet use strategically is the difference between a good score and a great one.

Controls

Use the four arrow keys to steer Pac-Man through the maze — up, down, left, right. The controls are crisp and immediately responsive. You can pre-queue a turn by pressing the direction key slightly before the corridor arrives, allowing for smooth continuous movement at full speed. Mastering this pre-turning technique is essential for high scores.

Scoring and Progression

Eating a ghost under a Power Pellet effect scores increasing points — 200 for the first, 400 for the second, 800 for the third, and 1,600 for the fourth in a single pellet chain. Fruit bonuses appear twice per level in the middle of the maze for limited time, adding a risk-reward decision each time you consider detour to grab them.

Levels speed up progressively, and the ghosts' AI becomes more aggressive. What felt manageable at level one demands reflexes and spatial memory by level five.

An Arcade Icon That Still Delivers

Decades of sequels, spin-offs, and imitators haven't diminished the original. Pac-Man's brilliance lies in how much depth it hides inside four simple rules: eat the dots, avoid the ghosts, use the pellets, eat the fruit. This HTML5 version preserves every bit of that magic — playable instantly, no account required, no installs needed. A true classic, ready whenever you are.
