Pacxon

Pacxon takes the classic maze formula and flips it on its head: instead of eating pellets and running from ghosts, your job is to claim territory. Draw lines across the board to wall off sections of the arena, shrinking the space available to the ghosts until you've captured enough of the map to move on. It sounds deceptively simple — and it is, right up until the moment a ghost clips your unfinished line and sends you back to square one.

How to Play Pacxon

Use the arrow keys to move your character along the edges of the playfield. Venture into open territory to start drawing a line, then return to a safe border to complete the enclosed area. Any region you seal off gets added to your territory percentage, displayed prominently on screen so you always know how far you've come. The goal is to capture 80% or more of the board before you run out of lives.

The fundamental tension is simple but relentless: while you're drawing your line, you're completely vulnerable. If any ghost touches your incomplete trail before you close the shape, you lose a life and restart the section. As you progress through levels, ghosts multiply, speed up, and start behaving in less predictable ways, forcing you to plan several moves ahead rather than react impulsively. A level that felt manageable in the early rounds can turn genuinely challenging the moment an extra ghost appears on the board.

Strategy matters enormously here. Small captures are safer because they reduce the time you spend away from a safe border, but they also won't reach the 80% threshold quickly enough. Big sweeping captures are efficient but expose you to ghosts for longer stretches. The sweet spot is in medium-sized cuts that balance risk and reward — large enough to make meaningful progress, small enough to complete before a ghost intercepts you. Learning to read ghost movement patterns and timing your runs accordingly is what separates a player who barely scrapes 80% from one who clears the board entirely.

Features

Pacxon is an HTML5 game that runs directly in your browser with no downloads required, playing smoothly on both desktop and mobile devices. The controls could not be simpler — just the arrow keys — making it immediately accessible on any device, but the escalating difficulty ensures the challenge is always present. Multiple lives give you room to experiment, and the persistent percentage counter creates a satisfying sense of incremental progress even when a ghost sends you back to the start. The visual style is clean: territory you've claimed fills with color, ghosts are clearly distinct from your character, and your active line contrasts sharply with the background. Fans of skill games and Pacman-style titles like Splatman or Sonny Dog will find familiar arcade satisfaction here, with the territorial mechanic adding a genuinely fresh twist to the formula.

Tips for Beginners

Start every level by hugging the edges and making a few small captures to get a feel for the ghost patterns before committing to anything ambitious. Once you understand how many ghosts are on the board and how they tend to move, begin planning larger cuts toward the center. Never start a line you can't complete — if a ghost is heading toward your intended route, wait for it to pass rather than hoping you'll beat it there. And always have an escape plan: know which safe border you're heading back to before you begin drawing. Whether you're here for a quick five-minute session or determined to perfect every level, Pacxon delivers the kind of addictive arcade loop that's hard to walk away from.
