To play
Rummikub brings one of the world's most beloved tile-based board games straight to your browser, fully playable on both desktop and mobile. The objective is to be the first player to place all your tiles on the table by forming valid sets — either groups of the same number in different colors, or runs of consecutive numbers in the same color. It sounds orderly, but the scramble to outsmart your opponents is anything but.
Rules and Gameplay
Each player starts with 14 tiles drawn from a pool of numbered tiles (1–13) in four colors, plus two jokers. On your turn, you either play tiles from your hand onto the table or draw a new tile if you can't play. The catch: you can manipulate existing sets on the table — splitting runs, borrowing tiles from groups, rearranging the whole board — as long as you leave every set valid at the end of your turn. This "manipulation" phase is where Rummikub's genius lives.
Strategy and Skill
The opening move requires placing tiles totalling at least 30 points, which forces you to think carefully about your initial hand. From there, the game is a constant balancing act: playing your tiles aggressively to reduce your hand, versus holding back powerful combinations to enable bigger moves later. Watching how opponents rearrange the board can reveal their plans — and give you ideas of your own.
The jokers are wild cards that can represent any tile, making them invaluable early but risky to hold late — if an opponent wins while you're holding one, the penalty is heavy.
Play Anytime, Anywhere
This HTML5 version of Rummikub runs smoothly on any device, so you can pick up a game on your phone during a commute or settle in for a longer session on a larger screen. The digital format handles all the bookkeeping — no tiles to drop, no invalid sets slipping past tired eyes — letting you focus purely on the strategic puzzle.
